What's Up With The Big Three

By Paul Wein

I guess Triple HHH should change his name to Tripe A since he announced that he helped Rikishi run over Stone Cold Steve Austin. It's no surprise that The Game was The Accomplice. A former four time WWF Champion, it's quite possible that Triple H would not have held the WWF title as often if the rattlesnake was still in the title picture - so I guess Triple H found his own way to run over the competition.

Also in WWF country, tickets for Wrestlemania 17 went on sale last weekend for what will be the largest crowd ever to witness a wrestling event in the United States. Is there anything the WWF can not accomplish? Maybe. I mean - I haven't seen Lita fight Trish in a spray cheese match - but never say never.

Speaking of cheese - it looks like Naked Mideon is no more - I hope you taped it for posterity.

The wrestling world got a prime example as to the direction of the future of WCW recently when only 768 tickets were sold for a recent taping of Monday Nitro. Even I would pay to see the great talent they have in Atlanta. I think the problem with the WCW is that fans find the WCW "un-cool" and feel that telling their friends that they like the WCW is as good of a social move as wearing an Urkel T-shirt. With the Nature Boy as the new CEO - let's hope he can bring the WCW back to coolness.

By the way, I am almost finished reading Goldberg's new book, I'm Next. I'm not a die hard Goldberg fan - and I like the book. So if you're a fan of the former Atlanta Falcon - then spear a copy at a bookstore near you.

Congrats go out to Steve Corino as the King of Old School also became the King of ECW at the November to Remember pay-per-view when he grabbed the gold in a bloody Fatal Four Way.

They may not be on a network - but the fans love them as much as if they were the only show on TV. I just hope that they get back on TV before the Massacre on 34th Street which takes place next month at the Hammerstein Ballroom.
