After showing No Mercy to The Rock, Kurt Angle has added some gold around his waist to match the gold around his neck. But with The Brahma Bull, The Game, The Canadian Crippler and the rest of the WWF roster hungry for Kurt's title, how much longer can this Olympic hero remain on top? Remember Kurt - this ain't the Olympics - you don't get to keep this gold.
Speaking of gold - Los Conquistadores? They ruled - like fifteen years ago.
As for Rikishi running over Stone Cold Steve Austin - I don't buy it. The big man is covering for someone else - which is not a tough thing to do at his size.
Once again, problems plague our friends in Atlanta. With the firing list growing daily and including names like Bret Hart and Scott Hall, with wrestlers doing live shoot interviews, and a rumored sale to - of all companies - the WWF, what if anything can we expect from the WCW in the coming months? Hopefully a one hundred and eighty degree turn.
I recently spent some time in the locker room of a Monday Nitro and got to know some of their up and coming talent. They are a great bunch of guys with a lot of hunger and desire to begin a career in the squared circle. It's a shame that they have to begin that career in a company with more internal problems and politics then viewers. I hope that these future superstars can make a name for themselves despite the chaos around them.
On a side note, if the sale of the EWCW to the WWF goes through - they could charge two hundred bucks for a WCW vs. WWF pay-per-view - and they would get it.
While Paul Heyman hopes that this will be a November to Remember, he can't forget that TV exposure is the key to success in the wrestling business. Without a network, Heyman must try his hardest to get back on TV if he wants to stay in the game. Remember this - wrestlers want to be superstars, and if they can't be on TV in ECW - they can be somewhere else.
Finally, I want to send my condolences to the family of Yokozuna, who passed away at thirty-four of a heart attack. I had the pleasure of commentating one of his matches, and take it from me - his heart was as big as his body. He will be missed.
By the way Kodiak Bear - Yokozuna's death at such a young age was due to his weight. Let that be a red flag to you my friend. You want some advice? - Lay off the pudding.
