This Is It

By Paul Wein

Every company throughout the history of business has always had that one moment that will either make or break them. That one defining moment when all their hard work, effort, marketing, networking and blood, sweat and tears is put to the test. If it works, the company's success is unmistakable - if they fail - their end is imminent.

On May 7th, our company reaches that moment. For on that Sunday, we present our third Ring Fever Round Table Discussion at Fun Time U.S.A. That is the day where all the work myself, Rob, Butch and the rest of the Ring Fever Crew have done will either be for everything - or nothing.

Nine months ago, Ring Fever was conceptualized all from an idea. That idea has been nurtured through the first season of our show on BCAT and through our website that has been getting more hits than many of wrestling's top sites. Now, nine months later - Ring Fever will be born into a show and site like nothing the fans of the great sport of wrestling have ever seen.

Since the day the show began on August 1, 1999, I must have met at least fifty thousand people at tapings, house shows and appearances all over the tri-state area. Of those fifty thousand, almost every one of them loved the concept of the show and asked what the future held for Ring Fever. I told them that there are many things in store for the show that would turn Ring Fever from a cable access show to a national phenomenon, I promised them that one day, we would make that jump.

That day is May 7th.

On May 7th, the loyal fans of our show will not recognize what they see, while the newcomers to Ring Fever will see something they thought they would never see. What they will see is a live taping of Ring Fever hosted by myself and consisting of a panel not of local wrestling experts - but of wrestlers themselves. Up and Comers, Main Eventers - and Hall of Famers. Guys like WWF Hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka and his son, Snuka II "The Future" got the Fever, but Ring Fever might have infected the likes of Nicole Bass, Manny Fernandez - and maybe even The Iron Sheik and Abdullah The Butcher. It does make sense. After all, this is our third Round Table Discussion - and you know what they say - the third time's the charm. Besides the wrestlers that will be there, the fans will also be able to enter a free raffle to win some great wrestling stuff like a life-size Stone Cold Steve Austin standup, a few WWF T-shirts, a copy of the Rock and Mankind's best selling books - and something that the winner of that prize will never ever forget.

Remember when you heard of a moment in wrestling history that made you wish you were there? Like when Hulk Hogan pinned the Iron Sheik on January 23, 1984 to win the WWF for the first time? Or when Stone Cold Steve Austin hosed the McMahon family with a truck full of cold beer? Or when Tazz showed up at an ECW show to win the ECW World Title from Mike Awesome while still under contract with the WWF? If only you had advance warning you would have been there to witness a moment in wrestling history that will be talked about for years - but will never be repeated again. Here's your advanced warning - see you May 7th at 9:00am at Fun Time U.S.A. - because this is it.
